About Whitacre Greer

A Brief History

Whitacre Greer has a long history.  The company is a 100-year old boutique-type manufacturer of fired-clay paving and fire brick based in Alliance, OH.  Whitacre Greer pavers, featured in projects throughout North America, are renowned for their clean lines and crisp finish.  Notable clients include Emory University, Georgia Institute of Technology, The University of Connecticut, Notre Dame, Florida State and other prestigious institutions.  Whitacre Greer pavers are at home in institutional, municipal, commercial and high-end residential projects.

Whitacre Greer firebrick is perfectly suited for residential fireplace and masonry bake oven construction.  It is used in some low-duty industrial applications.

The family-owned and operated business was founded in 1916 with the merger of the Whitacre Fireproofing Company and the Beatty-Greer Clay Company.  Today, fourth and fifth-generation Whitacres continue the craft of their ancestors.

Originally based in Waynesburg, Ohio, Whitacre Greer operated manufacturing plants in Waynesburg, Magnolia, Midvale and Alliance, Ohio.  Today, all operations are conducted at the Alliance facility.
